This allows your customers to do banking operations from their mobile phones from anywhere in the world.

No WIB, STK or any other convoluted fancy acronym is used. No programming to be loaded on the mobile.

PURPOSE

This is one of the delivery channels for the bank to disseminate information to its customers.

The bank improves its techno savvy image, saves money by reducing potential customer query handling by bank employees and helps customers be in control of his account by quick queue less access at a time convenient to him.

UNIQUE FEATURES & BENEFITS

  • Three-tier architecture ensures that no-hackers can access your system - Gives the bank and its customer’s their peace of mind.
  • Can work with distributed and heterogeneous databases
  • System can work either using a leased line connection between the SMS center and the bank or by using the leased line. In addition, the SMS center can either access the Mobile Banking Switch using a simple file interface or using an HTML query interface.
  • Internet based switch is safeguarded against snooping using a login and password that the SMS center must enter before accessing the Mobile Bank Switch otherwise the service is denied.
  • File based interface is safeguarded against snooping by using PGP encryption and decryption.

HOW TO USE

The following sequence of operations needs to be done by the user to use this facility:

  • Register your mobile phone with the bank
  • Enter a request code with a PIN as an SMS message
  • Send SMS to a pre-specified number
  • You will then receive an SMS message which answers your request

Additionally, you can have some PUSH services. For PUSH services you have to register once with request to get some alerts from the bank when that specific event happens.

FUNCTIONALITY
Different types of Transactions

Balance Enquiry Will give you the available balance in the default/operative accounts that are linked to your customer identification number. A Balance in A/c (your A/c No) is Rs. (Amount) Effective Available Balance is Rs (Amount)
Last 5 Transactions Will give you information on the last five debits/credits made to your account. B Balance in A/c (Your A/c No) is Rs. (Amount). Transactions: (Last 5 Transactions).
Transfer Funds Help Transfer is possible only in the accounts which you have given at the time of registration. C Displays list of all the accounts eligible for transfer.
Transfer Funds** Transfer Funds from one account to any of your account. TRN(A/c No)(PIN No)(Amount) Rs. (Amount) transferred successfully to (A/c No.) Note down your reference no (Ref. No) 
 Bill Pay Help Pay Your utility bills. D Display the nick names of all the vendors for whom you are registered.
Bill Pay Pay your Utility Bills. PAY(Utility Code) (Pin No) (Amount) Your (Nick Name) Bill of Rs. (Amount) Paid successfully. Your reference no is (Ref No)
Change PIN Help Pin No should be of 4 digits and it should be only in digits. E CHPIN (Old Pin)(New Pin)
Change PIN Change your PIN Number. CHPIN(OLD PIN)(NEW PIN) Your new Pin No. has been successfully updated to (PIN NO).
Statement Request A Statement Request will be mailed to your address on records with the bank. F Your request has been accepted. Please note down your reference no (Ref No)
Cheque Book Request A Cheque Book Request will be mailed to your address on records with the bank. G Your Request has been accepted. Please note down your reference no (Ref No)
Change Default A/c Help Change your default A/c to any other account. H List of all the accounts which you have given at the time of registration
Change Default A/c Change your default A/c to any other account. CHAC(new Account) Your default account no is now (A/c No)
Interest Rates Latest & updated Interest Rates. *I Displays the Interest Rates.
Exchange Rates Latest & Updated Exchange Rates *J Displays the Exchange Rates

 

*Exchange Rates and Interest Rates can be viewed by any registered or unregistered user by sending the SMS J and I respectively on the bank’s mobile number.

Note: All the messages are applicable for your Default/primary account number as mentioned in the mobile registration form. You can change your default account number as per your requirement through "change A/C option."

PUSH SERVICES

MINIMUM BALANCE ALERT

You can opt for this service while registration. This is activated once you register for such a facility at the time of registration. You will receive an alert message if the A/c balance falls below the limit prescribed by you.

Please note this will be valid for your default account (primary account). If you change your default account number the Minimum Balance Alert Will be valid for your new default account.
BILL PAYMENT ALERT
Through this service you can pay your utility bills. As and when bank receives your bills from service provider, it will send an SMS alert on your mobile phone, for e.g.:
Service Provider Name: BSNL
Consumer No: 123456
Phone No: 4873654
Bill No: 3456
Bill Amount: 1500
Bill Date: 02/08/2001
Due Date: 15/09/2001

After viewing these details for paying the bill you have to send your bill through Bill Pay option and Bank will revert about your payment status.

Separate Application forms need to be filled for different utilities.

GREETINGS

The bank will send out Birthday and Anniversary greetings.

TECHNOLOGY

JJ? The structure is a client server application written in VB. Data interchange happens via encrypted data structures.

The software uses ISO 8583 messaging system for transaction processing.

The software can work with any standard RDBMS such as MS SQL, and Oracle.
